11 years of hardcore punk rock'n'roll!
attackfanzine.net has gone through many changes over the years and what started out as a printed zine is now mainly a resource center for reviews and scene news.

Despite not always being what it should have been it has lived on and will do for some time.

ATTACK!fanzine/newsletter
ATTACK!fanzine started out on paper but it didn't take long to get fucked up. The first issue was very late and ended up only beeing printed in around 20 copies. Those were sent out to the ones who had pre-ordered it and contributed.
Issue #2 was supposed to be a split with another Swedish zine but as time flew by and nothing happened I almost had #3 done. So I decided to make #2 and #3 a split instead. Of course things got stuck once again and that split never happened. It was about this time I decided to change my website at that time into ATTACK!fanzine online. I added most interviews and some of the reviews and started to work on getting this site as big as possible instead. The reason I didn't add all reviews was because I read them trough and thought they were shit. I only added those of stuff who had been sent in and a couple of others I felt were ok.
And what happened to ATTACK!fanzine online is not that hard to figure is it?

Almost instantly after I had started working on the website I missed doing the layout for the paper version so the thoughts of a paper fanzine started to grow in my mind again. Luckily I wasn't stupid enough since I know I would've fucked up again. But a few-paged newsletter is something even I can manage. So I started doing that and between April 2001 and January 2003 I put out 6 issues (the last two came together as one). After doing issue 5/6 I realized it started to look a lot like the failed paperzine I once did and decided to take a break from the newsletter and fully focus on the online material.

The reason the highly original name ATTACK! was chosen is because that was the name of the very first tape out on A.L.P. Tapes and I felt I wanted something recurrent to make mine and for other people to recognize. The word pretty much speaks for itself. I liked it and decided to keep it.
I'm pretty sure some people will have a hard time swallowing the fact that it's FANzine and not just a zine. Well, I'm a fan of the music, and I admire the people that are doing something for our "scene" so I guess I'm a fan of them as well. Plus the fact that ATTACK!fanzine sounds much better than ATTACK!zine, end of discussion!

All this was done by me (Krogh) alone for a long time, not because I wanted to but because I had to. A friend, Micke, was a part of it for a short time but bailed. To much pressure of being as tough as the rest of the ATTACK! HQ crew, haha! Seriously he wanted to focuse on his deathmetal band at the time and couldn't devote as much time as he felt was needed to make it work.
But the last couple of years more and more people have shown an interest in helping out with the zine and two in particular wanted to do a little more. Stefan from the US, who's also doing a band called Akkolyte, and Hatta from Malaysia. They were for some time a part of the crew, although I was still the one running things as this is my baby. I'm too much of a controlfreak to let anyone else make big decisions. At this point I am doing this by myself again, but help is always appreciated and encouraged.

It is now January 2007 and the zine has been going on for ten years and I hope it will go on for another ten years. In an earlier version of this text from a year back I wrote that when I feel this site isn't getting the attention it deserves from me "I hope my eyes are open enough to see it so I can make the appropriate changes, or just quit it." Now that time has come, and I did actually realize it and that's why you see the site you see today - quality before quantity.

Blindead Productions
Late 1996 I got access to the Internet through school and soon started to make contact with people from all over. I started to realize how easy it was to start my own label, said and done, A.L.P. Tapes was born. The name came from a stupid joke and meant Arvika Lokal Produktion (close enough to english, so no need to translate). I never wrote that anywhere 'cause it was just a stupid name. Instead A.L.P. meant nothing, clever huh?
After a bunch of tapes, mostly comps, the lust for releasing a vinyl started to grow. After beeing in contact with Swedish råpunks Crossing Chaos for a while we started talking about a 7" release. After many problems due to fuck-ups from both me and the band, it beeing the first time I was in contact with a pressing plant and didn't know exactly how to do it and the fact that money was hard to get, the record came out January 2000. With over a years delay.
This record came out on Resist The System Records, a new label run parallel to A.L.P. Tapes. I felt I didn't wanna change the name to A.L.P. Tapes and Records and instead I started RTS Records.

After that something happened. I had worked at Volvo for about 6 months and it really started to get at me. When I came home I didn't feel like doing anything and therefor the label and website became suffering. A year and a half later I finally got out of the black hole I was in and realized that it was time to start the damn thing up again.
A few new tapes was put out and things started rolling. Then it all got slow again. This time it had nothing to do with lack of will to do something, it just happened. I didn't have any money and the distro was close to dead. Very hard to release records and stuff that way. But things cleared up and things started moving again.

I went a head in time there for a while. During the time Micke was involved in the labels and the zine we started to think about getting a new name that included both the tape and record labels. Many names where thought of but as we were preparing the Blindead By Reality tape we fell flat for that name. Once again the label was named after the first tape. Well, actually the 11th, but the first under the new name. You see, the label has been around since 1997, but under the name Blindead Productions since 2002. The reason it was called Productions instead of Tapes & Records or something else is because maybe there might be something other than audio releases besides the newsletter in the future. As you know Micke left and once again I'm alone. And no, none of us had heard the song "Blindead" by Misery by the time we decided to go with that name, believe it or not.
A few tapes, CD-Rs and vinyl 7"s later I decided to focus on vinyl for the time being. No more tapes and/or CD-Rs, it's simply too much work for such little result, hence, no fun to do.

That pretty much brings us up to date, January 2008. Blindead Productions is at the moment a vinyl label with a bunch of releases in its backpack and a bunch planned for the future.

Dömd
The zine Dömd is something I do together with my dear friend Sonny who also sings in Massmord and does the site Rise & Subvert (www.riseandsubvert.net). It's been the dream for both of us to do a proper paper zine for years, and now we found each other and also the opportunity to do so.
