BORN/DEAD / PELIGRO SOCIAL split 7"
(Alerta Antifascista)
I don't think Born/Dead has ever released a questionable track when it comes to quality, and the track on here isn't going to let anyone down either. It starts out with a powerful guitar-bass-drum build-up going into some great riffing before it takes off into the typical Born/Dead sound with the help of a drum roll, oh how I love them drum rolls. I usually describe the band as the result of equal parts Poison Idea, Japanese hardcore, and US thrash, and I hear nothing in this track that should change that description.
The Born/Dead track is called "Assault" and there's a small 12-paged booklet about this subject accompanying this release.
This is the debut for Peligro Social but since I got their "No religion" LP before this I knew what to expect - very melodic driven up-tempo hardcore punk. The somewhat snotty vocals give this the attitude it needs and the fact that they sing in Spanish is just another advantage. I have earlier in discussions about band described them as being somewhere in between No Hope for the Kids and Lost World, and I still stand by that statement, only adding that this description of course don't tell the whole tale. The two tracks on here are both great, but especially the second one "Pesadilla" - if you don't wanna get up and shake your ass to this there's something wrong with you. [Krogh - February 1, 2007]

A site for self development for the post modern hippie discusses the concept of when “enough is enough”: “Enough can describe quantity or quality, depending on the subject or object”. Adrenicide released “Kill” last year as their fourth album in three years, and to top it off, the released yet another full length last year. To put it bluntly, on this release they clearly excel in quantity, and fail miserably in terms of quality.

VON BØØM Punkrockterrorists CD
F.D.A. Rekotz

I was pretty impressed with the material Von Bøøm presented on their split with Motorbreath and any fears of a band that returns after two decades and completely ruin any heritage was soon washed away. What this means is that I approach this CD in a different manner as I already know they can deliver, so this time I expect quality instead of just hope they won’t loose their dignity...

ASSASSINATORS/D.S.B. split 7”
Alerta Antifascista/Halo of Flies Records

At first look this might seem as an odd pairing of bands, and I agree. I still think it’s somewhat strange, but that doesn’t stop it from being two good bands for the price of one so it’s really a good deal.

Danish Assassinators continue to deliver the melodic punk they’ve proven to be very good at in the past.

TERRORSTAT/TWISTED SYSTEM split CD
Endless Brutality of Men

Eighteen tracks in thirty-six minutes and a Swedish - American crustcore team-up with two bands that I think would have benefited from doing separate releases.

When a bands’ style is described as raw, rampant crustcore with a couple of heavy mid-tempo breakdowns it could just as well be a way of tip-toeing around the fact that they don’t have so much to offer as it could mean...
